After the tragic mining accident in District 12 took the life of her father, Katniss Everdeen, a resourceful, strong-willed teenager was forced to care for her younger sister and mother. As the sole provider for her family, Katniss spends her time illegally hunting outside the fence surrounding District 12 just to barely make ends meet. Little did Katniss know but her strong will and hunting skills will play a major role if she is to have any chance of surviving her trip to The Hunger Games.

The Hunger Games Movie Actor

Actress Jennifer Lawrence has been cast to play this lead role in the film adaptation to be released in 2012. Jennifer’s pivotal role came in last year’s film Winter’s Bone in which she was nominated for an Oscar.
